SONOTIZ ATA – Multilayer Thermal & Acoustic Roof Mat

Advanced Insulation for Roofs and Structural Surfaces

SONOTIZ ATA is a high-performance multilayer thermal and acoustic insulation mat designed to provide outstanding protection against heat loss and airborne noise. Its unique composition makes it ideal for both residential and commercial buildings where energy efficiency, fire resistance, and acoustic control are key requirements. The mat combines a dense fiberglass core (SONO Eco) with a spunbond outer layer and a reflective aluminized film. This structure creates a hybrid barrier that reflects thermal radiation while absorbing vibrations and sound energy — effectively reducing thermal transfer and airborne noise penetration. Its binder-free composition ensures long-term durability even at extreme temperatures up to +650°C.

Product Structure & Material Properties

SONOTIZ ATA is composed of three key layers:

1.

SONO Eco fiberglass core – non-combustible, flexible, and highly efficient at thermal and acoustic insulation.

2.

Inner spunbond layer – adds mechanical stability and protects the fiberglass core.

3.

Outer aluminized spunbond film – acts as a radiant heat reflector and surface moisture barrier.

The fiberglass mat is manufactured using a mechanical compression process, without the use of chemical adhesives or binders. This environmentally safe method results in a product that is hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and safe for long-term indoor use.

Key Features and Advantages

  • Multifunctional insulation: Provides thermal resistance, airborne noise reduction, and light vibration damping in one product.
  • High temperature resistance: Maintains mechanical and thermal performance up to +650°C.
  • Non-combustible: Class A1 fire rating — meets strict EU fire safety standards.
  • Moisture resistant: Spunbond wrap and aluminized film limit condensation and vapor penetration.
  • Lightweight and flexible: Can be cut on-site for installation around beams, ducts, and irregular surfaces.
  • Sustainable and non-toxic: Contains no formaldehyde, phenol, or VOCs.

Applications

SONOTIZ ATA is suitable for a wide range of insulation scenarios, especially where both thermal efficiency and acoustic control are required in limited space:

  • Roofs: Above or below rafters in pitched or flat roofs.
  • Attic spaces: To prevent heat accumulation and external noise from entering.
  • Walls & ceilings: Installed under plasterboard or suspended ceiling structures.
  • Exterior envelopes: Provides added insulation in timber, steel-frame, or prefabricated wall sections.
  • Technical spaces: Protects HVAC zones and equipment shafts from energy loss and vibration.
  • Industrial use: Applicable in factories or warehouses with structural noise or thermal exposure.

Installation Guidelines

  • Allow the rolls to acclimate to site temperature and humidity for at least 24 hours prior to installation.
  • Cut to size with a utility knife or shears.
  • Can be applied using mechanical fasteners, special adhesive, or integrated into layered wall/roof systems.
  • Avoid compressing the mat — air volume contributes to its thermal insulation performance.

Certifications and Safety

  • Compliant with European CE standards
  • Fire resistance class: A1 (non-combustible)
  • Free from binders, adhesives, and hazardous substances
  • Safe for residential, educational, and healthcare installations
