SONOTIZ PIPE

SONOTIZ PIPE
Purpose
SONOTIZ PIPE D110 is designed to reduce airborne and structure-borne noise generated by drainage, ventilation, and technical pipelines, improving acoustic comfort in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Description
SONOTIZ PIPE D110 is a professional acoustic insulation system engineered for Ø110 mm pipes — the most common diameter used in sewage and drainage systems across Europe. The system combines a dense acoustic membrane with a self-adhesive polyethylene foam layer, forming a flexible, multilayer solution that tightly wraps around pipelines and effectively reduces vibration and noise transmission at the source. SONOTIZ PIPE is supplied as a complete installation kit, ensuring controlled, repeatable installation quality and predictable acoustic performance.
Delivery Forms/ Storage note
Supplied as a complete installation kit, including:
1. Self-adhesive multilayer acoustic membrane:
Dimensions: 3,000 × 400 mm
Total thickness: ~ 8.5 mm
Weight: ~ 6.6 kg
2. Sealing tape
3. Plastic cable ties
Storage
Store in a dry place at temperatures between +5 °C and +35 °C
Avoid direct sunlight, UV exposure, and mechanical stress
Shelf life: 24 months from production date
Improper storage does not damage the physical structure of the material but may reduce adhesive performance and affect declared installation characteristics.
General Overview
Noise generated by pipelines is one of the most common sources of discomfort in buildings, often transmitted both through air and structural elements. SONOTIZ PIPE addresses this problem locally at the pipe surface, reducing vibration, resonance, and secondary sound radiation before noise spreads into surrounding structures.
The product is designed as part of an integrated acoustic system and delivers optimal results when combined with wall, floor, and ceiling soundproofing solutions.
Advantages how it works? Key benefits
SONOTIZ PIPE is engineered around core acoustic engineering principles:
Mass – the dense acoustic membrane increases surface mass, limiting sound radiation
Damping – the multilayer structure dissipates vibrational energy
Elastic decoupling – polyethylene foam reduces mechanical energy transfer
Multilayer dissipation – transitions between layers of different densities reduce resonance and structure-borne noise
This combination ensures effective control of both airborne and vibration-related noise generated by pipelines.
Key Benefits
Reduces flow and vibration noise by up to 25 dB
Flexible and dense multilayer structure ensures full surface contact
Self-adhesive backing for fast, clean installation
Compatible with PVC, PP, and metal pipes
Suitable for indoor technical installations
Supplied as a complete installation kit
Non-toxic and halogen-free materials

Installation
Surface preparation
Clean the pipe surface from dust, moisture, and greasy residues.
Cutting and wrapping
Cut the membrane to the required length and wrap it tightly around the pipe.
Fixation
Secure the membrane every ~20 cm using plastic cable ties to maintain constant pressure and prevent slipping.
Important: Full surface contact is essential for proper insulation.
Sealing joints
Seal all overlaps and joints with membrane tape to prevent gaps.
Optional covering (outdoor use)
For outdoor installations, apply an additional protective covering to shield the system from UV radiation and weather exposure. Additional cable ties may be used if required.
Instalation as part of the Soundproofing System
SONOTIZ PIPE functions as a localized acoustic treatment for pipelines within a comprehensive building soundproofing system. It reduces noise at the source but does not replace structural acoustic design measures.
Optimal performance is achieved when combined with SONOTIZ wall, floor, and ceiling soundproofing systems. Acoustic bridges such as rigid fixations, uninsulated supports, and open penetrations must be addressed separately.
Recommended Applications
Sewage and drainage pipelines (Ø110 mm)
Ventilation ducts and technical pipework
Residential buildings (apartments, houses)
Commercial buildings (offices, hotels)
Industrial and technical premises
Vertical risers and horizontal pipe sections
SONOTIZ PIPE is intended for indoor applications. Outdoor use is permitted only with additional protective covering.
