Vibro-Tape SONOFOL PE – Self-Adhesive Vibro-Isolating Tape for Profiles and Perimeters

Vibro-Tape SONOFOL PE
Self-adhesive vibro-isolating tape for structural decoupling
Purpose
To reduce vibration and impact noise transmission by decoupling metallic profiles and walls in soundproofing systems by minimizing structural contact and enhancing overall performance.
Description
SONOFOL PE Vibro-Tapes are self-adhesive polyethylene tapes designed to act as a resilient decoupling layer in drywall constructions. Applied between plasterboards and metal profiles (C-D and U-D), they prevent direct structural contact and minimize noise transmission. Narrow tapes are used on profiles; wider ones line the perimeter under profiles along walls, floors, and ceilings.
Application
- 30 mm and 45 mm: applied directly on C-D and U-D profiles before plasterboard installation
- 70 mm and 90 mm: placed under perimeter U-D profiles (floors, ceilings, walls)
- Suitable for residential and commercial drywall systems
- Compatible with metal frame installations
Delivery Forms
Panels: 0.8 m x 1.2 m (0.96 m²)
Thickness: 12 mm or 14 mm
Weight: 16.5–18.5 kg/m²
Professional Decoupling for Drywall and Acoustic Systems
Vibro-Tape SONOFOL PE is a self-adhesive polyethylene tape designed to minimize vibration transfer and structural noise in drywall constructions. By decoupling metal profiles (C-D and U-D) from walls, floors, and ceilings, it significantly improves the acoustic performance of soundproofing systems.
Available in four standard widths — 30 mm, 45 mm, 70 mm, and 90 mm — this tape is engineered for flexibility in all types of installation, whether on structural profiles or along perimeter surfaces.
Why Use Vibro-Tape SONOFOL PE?
Drywall systems without proper decoupling can form acoustic bridges, allowing structure-borne sound to pass through metal elements into the building frame. Vibro-Tape SONOFOL PE solves this problem with a closed-cell polyethylene foam layer that breaks mechanical contact and absorbs vibrations. Its pressure-sensitive adhesive backing ensures fast and reliable installation without the need for mechanical fasteners.
Technical Features & Performance

- Material: Closed-cell polyethylene foam
- Adhesive: High-tack acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive
- Thermal Resistance: –20°C to +80°C
- Acoustic Benefit: Reduces impact and structure-borne noise transfer
- Durability: Water-resistant, rot-proof, and non-toxic
- Application Temperature: +10°C to +40°C
Application Guidelines

Narrow Widths (30 mm / 45 mm)
- Applied directly onto C-D and U-D profiles before plasterboard or acoustic panel installation
- Prevents direct contact between profiles and gypsum boards
- Ideal for interior drywall partition systems and suspended ceilings
Wide Widths (70 mm / 90 mm)
- Installed beneath perimeter profiles where U-profiles touch the wall, floor, or ceiling
- Prevents perimeter vibration transfer
- Recommended in multi-layer or decoupled wall assemblies
